Of the 134 riders who participated in the 17th Annual Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Festival, 42 of them signed up in advance--70% registered morning-of. The most popular ride was either the 25-miler or the 50-miler which each snagged about forty riders (we don't have ride information a bunch of people, though). A handful went out on the new 5-miler. Maybe that'll grow in outgoing years. Almost a hundred people had never ridden in the event before--eleven have done it each of the past three years. Just over a hundred riders were from the 540 area code. The man from Edgewater, Maryland earns honors for coming the farthest at 170 miles travelled.
We've sent out an e-mail to riders requesting feedback on the following:
- Advertising, Communication before the event--
- Pre-registration, Payment, Instructions before the event--
- Day of registration, Rider numbers, Pre-ride speech--
- Departure times, Route distances, Route markings, Maps, Cue Sheets--
- Safety measures, Pre-ride maintenance, Ride leaders, SAG (support vehicle)--
- Rest stops, Beverages, Snacks, Volunteers--
- Check in, Showers, T-shirts--
- Breakfast, Lunch, Coupons for Clementine's and Shenandoah Bicycle Company--
- General/Other--
We don't have e-mails for everyone--or made an error somewhere on those we have--so please, if you have yet to receive a request for feedback from us, consider the points above and help us improve next year by commenting where appropriate.
Thanks again for participating and making this year's event a good one. Mark you calendars for the 18th Annual festival: Saturday, July 25th, 2009.
