New Community Project

With the help of Tom Benevento, New Community Project has helped erect a bike repair shop on OCP grounds. The idea is to put in a couple hours repairing a bike and ride off on one of your own. Their mission is to help us all live “more sustainably with the earth and more fairly with its people”.

Their work includes:

• sponsoring Learning Tours to places where God’s people and/or God’s creation are struggling.
• providing speakers and workshop leaders for colleges, congregations, youth events, and other gatherings.
• placing Solidarity Workers in other countries and cultures.
• offering a variety of engaging print and web-based resources.
• creating a support network for like-minded souls, with a special interest in empowering youth and young adults.
